  • Small, drab songbird
  • Greyish or olive-grey above, light below
  • Faint grey eyeline below lighter stripe
  • No wing bars
  • 5.5" (14 cm.)

Habitat

  • Upland and lowland forest
  • Open areas with some woods

Additional Information

  • Common migrant and summer resident
  • Song a long jumbly-warbly phrase that
         usually ends with ascending sharp note
  • Frequent cowbird host, has been observed
         puncturing and ejecting cowbird egg
