  • Small songbird
  • Brown above, lighter below
  • Faint eyebrow stripe
  • Lacks bold markings
  • Often holds tail in a cocked, upright position
  • 4.5-5" (11-13 cm.)

Habitat

  • Forest edges, shrubby and residential areas

Additional Information

  • Common migrant and summer resident
  • Energetic singer, sings bubbly song
  • Nests in tree cavities, bird houses, other
         enclosed spaces
  • Aggressive to other cavity-nesting species
