  • Rufous color on white head
  • Rufous line across upper chest
  • Grey or black back and wings
  • Large white wing patches

Habitat

  • Open areas

Additional Information

  • Fairly common winter resident
  • Breeds in high latitudes --artic tundra
  • Usually seen in flocks
  • Mixes with flocks of Horned Larks
  • Sometimes a winter Visitor to the KVR
