Identification

  • Medium-sized thrush
  • Brown above with reddish brown tail
    white below with dark spots on breast
  • 6-7" (14-18 cm.)

Habitat

  • Forests

Additional Information

  • Fairly common migrant, fairly common
    resident northern WI
  • Camouflaged but attracts attention
         with its habit of raising tail quickly
         and slowly lowering it
  • Flicks wings
  • Known for its ethereal flutelike song
  • Sings occasionally during spring migration
