Green-winged Teal - (Anas crecca) Identification
- A small “dabbling” duck
- Male: overall grey color, reddish
brown head with green patch extending from eye, vertical white stripe at shoulder - In flight, green patches visible on
inner wings (“speculum”) - Female: Brown, with small green patch
on secondary feathers (“speculum”) near tail feathers - 14” (35cm)

- Uncommon resident in Kickapoo Valley
- Regular spring and fall KVR migrant
