  • Male blue-grey above with black
         throat and sides
  • White breast and underside
  • Female very plain; dull olive above
  • Slightly dark cheek
  • White patch on wing
  • 5-5.5" (13 cm.)

Habitat

  • During migration, a variety of
         forested habitats
  • Breeding, large tracts of deciduous
         or mixed forest

Additional Information

  • Rare migrant
  • Wisconsin species of special concern
  • Male and female were once considered
         different species
  • Song has buzzy notes
