Volunteer Opportunities exist at the Kickapoo Valley Reserve for individuals, and for those wishing to join others or to assist with special events.

VOLUNTEER GROUPS

SPECIAL EVENTS 

  • Dam Challenge Triathlon - An education program fund raiser, this event is held in early October. Volunteers are needed for set up and cleanup, and to help direct participants during the race. Promotion and recruiting is also welcomed.
  • Spring Clean Up - held each April.
  • Winterfest - held in early January

INDIVIDUAL ACTIVITIES

  • Become a volunteer or instructor for the Education Program.  Individuals who have experience working with children/adults are needed to present curriculum to various groups throughout the year.
  • Share Your Expertise through presenting a Saturday or Evening Program or workshops to the general public.
  • Provide the Reserve office updates of trail and river conditions
  • Collection and disposal of litter.
  • Join a Citizen Based Monitoring Program - volunteers are sought for numerous monitoring activities, covering a wide range of natural topics. Conducting Survey on the Reserve helps with species inventory and identifying conservation needs onfor the property and the State. Contact Ben.Johnston@wisconsin.gov for more information.
  • Provide your contact information to the Reserve office for any special events that may arise.
