  • Plain grey face, sides of neck and breast
  • Dramatic white and black striped crown
  • Pale brown rump
  • Pinkish bill

Habitat

  • Shrubby areas, old fields, woodland edges

Additional Information

  • Fairly common migrant
  • Flocks with other sparrow species
  • Forages near cover with a hop-scratch
         movement
  • Migratory bird of the KVR
